Light gold in colour. Nine and a half years on lees has worked its magic on this wine, the aromas having moved past simple varietal notes into wonderfully complex territory – honey on buttered toast, roasted nuts, nougat, meringue, oh my goodness! Despite all this complexity the medium weight palate retains freshness and elegance, finishing with fine acids and great length. This is something special.

"Light, bright yellow with a persistent cordon of fine bubbles. The bouquet is appealingly toasty with some apple but without the greener notes of the original disgorgement, a touch of brioche and bread crust, iced pastries, lemon balm and a hint of honey as well. The palate is where this disgorgement really shines: it has a creaminess of texture and lovely seamless harmony, all the components well integrated, the palate flavours infinitely more complex and delicious, the balance contributing to outstanding drinkability. 96 points." - Huon Hooke, The Real Review

"68/32% chardonnay/pinot noir from a vineyard perched at 980m. This late-disgorged wine, from a cool year, was on lees for an extraordinary 9.5 years, which has endowed it with both depth and remarkable composure. The intensity of yellow citrus – lemon zest and dried pineapple layered with cultured butter richness – speaks immediately to its youthfulness. Marigold florals and a gentle turmeric spice add aromatic intrigue. A forceful line of tingling acidity drives the palate, carrying notes of sugared peanut and buttered toast. Toasted brûlée characters linger with persistence, echoing across a fine, persistent mousse. 95 points." - Shanteh Wale, Halliday
